Our project for last few days has been making red currant juice. Soaking and washing vintage bottles, picking berries, waiting for the rain to stop. We have two ancient red currant bushes in our garden that are huge and they make a lot of berries.
We found the Mehu-Maija juicer at a flea market last fall. This is the second time we make juice with it. Judging from the pictures in the manual it's from late 70's, early 80's. I remember having one of them at my granparents' house when I was a kid and washing it one summer. It's funny the little flashes of memories you get.
And the first batch is ready! There's maybe two more to go. We go pick more berries when the rain stops again :) Last year I found the greatest printable bottle labels from Creature Comforts. Inspired by them, this year I thought I'd make my own. If you'd like, you can download them here. There's no text, so you can print them and use them as you like.
