My new website!

In addition to the Gifted Magazine contribution - hope you liked it! - this is another project that has kept me busy. I designed my new website. Since I am a freelancer I guess it's quite important to have an online portfolio of your work. And my old website was badly outdated.

I'm especially proud of the jQuery slideshow I managed to do all by myself (well almost, Panu helped me a little :)) There must be a little nerd living inside of me, because I was so happy when I got the code working. I also decided to use webfonts instead of making all the menus into pictures. I realize this might mean some of you won't see the pretty font (Affair) I intended. But it's a development I definitely want to support, as it makes web design much better looking and websites better functioning.

I would love to hear your opinions about the new site. It would be great to know what you think, also if there's something that DOESN'T work. I can already tell the few of you who are, according to Google Analytics, still using IE6 that the site doesn't support it. Microsoft doesn't support IE6 anymore, so I decided I don't need to either. So if you are using IE6, please hurry and update your browser! :)

Suoraan painosta

Eilen sain sen viimein käsiini. Siis syyn, miksi minulla ei joulukuussa ollut pätkääkään vapaa-aikaa, paitsi 4 päivää joulupyhinä. Minun kädenjälkeäni on kirjan kuvitus ja taitto. Mukavaa - ja omituista - pidellä yli kuukauden uurastuksen tulosta ihan konkreettisesti käsissään.

This is the reason why I had no free time in december, except four days during christmas. It's the book I illustrated and designed the layout for. And now it's here, fresh from the press. It's nice and weird at the same time to hold in your hands something that you worked so hard to create.

Hiphoppia

Viime viikonlopun vietin suunnitellen OSAYlle julisteita. He järjestävät aivan huimalta kuulostavan hiphop-show'n ja workshoppeja Oulun seudun ammattikorkeakoululla. Käykää katsomassa, jos olette Oulun suunnalla. Lisätietoja ja ohjelma löytyy täältä.

Kutsut

Hääkutsut saatiin viiimein lähetettyä viikko sitten. Suuri paino lähti rinnalta, kun sain ne matkaan. Muutenkin kaikki alkaa olla jo selvää. Puvut on, pappi on, dj löytyy, kampaaja ja meikki on varattuna. Häämusiikki on vielä mietinnässä ja bändi puuttuu. Jotenkin en sitä osaa stressata niin paljon, mikä on yllättävää. Olen kauhea stressaaja. Vielä on jäljellä paljon käytännön tekemistä, mutta se tuntuu helpommalta, kun suuret asiat on hoidossa.

Suunnittelin kutsut itse, Panun avustuksella tietysti. Painatimme ne digipainossa. Kuoret on Sinellistä. Alunperin halusin ruskeita ekokirjekuoria, mutta ne olivat loppu varastosta juuri sillä hetkellä. Postimerkit ovat itse suunniteltuja omakuvapostimerkkejä.
